Let’s talk about those days when you just don’t have the energy. You know, those days when you feel depleted?
Some of those days can be because of hormonal changes, or because you’re feeling unwell, or simply the demand on your time has been too great.
Our body has a way of making us slow down even if our mind is playing our “to-do list” on repeat.
Can I suggest something?
Listen to your body. Force yourself to take the time to rest. Then if you feel up for it, do activities that stimulate the action of your “happy brain chemicals” – dopamine, serotonin, oxytocin and endorphins.
Here are some activities that may help: listen to music, read a book, light your favourite candle or burn your favourite oil, eat your favourite foods, get out for a walk and fresh air, binge watch your favourite show, spend time with someone who makes you happy, cuddle a pet. These are just a few suggestions on how you can wake up your happy brain chemicals when you feel depleted.
Know that it’s okay to rest. Actually, it’s essential! You might feel better after you have given yourself that time.
